Q: How can I share the Virtual IPDS Printer for AS/400 and IBM Mainframe ?

Answer: Install Virtual IPDS Printer software, and you will get a new printer named Virtual IPDS Printer in your printer folder, and this printer is automatically shared as a network shared printer by the installer. You should also share the C:\Windows\System32 folder and give Everyone READ permission so that users can print directly from an IBM AS/400, iSeries, zSeries mainframe to this Virtual IPDS Printer, and get the output in the target Laserjet or Inket or multi-functional printer. The target printer should have been set up as an association with the Virtual IPDS Printer.

The IBM Systems

The current IBM product lines that we refer to in this site are:

pSeries
iSeries
zSeries
xSeries
ThinkPad/Intellistation
TotalStorage (disk and tape subsystems)

IBM has made a number of changes over the years to the naming of their products. Knowing that the old and the new terms are in common use, we use both in this site.

IBM eServer iSeries became IBM System i
IBM eServer pSeries became IBM System p
IBM eServer xSeries became IBM System x
IBM eServer zSeries became IBM System z
IBM TotalStorage became IBM Storage
IBM eServer BladeCenter became IBM BladeCenter
IBM eServer 1350 became IBM System Cluster 1350
